PROJECT 1: FETTUCCINE TRUSS BRIDGE
In a group of 4, the first task of the project, we were required to design and construct a fettucine bridge of 350mm clear span and with a maximum weight of 70g. The bridge should be designed and construct based on out understanding of tension and compressive strength of the materials and also the foce distributuion in a truss. Then, the second task is an indivisual task where we were to calculate the case study provided together with the project brief. This is to test our ability to analyze a truss correctly. Attachment below is the report of the bridge testing outcome and the calculations of truss.
PROJECT 2
In this project, we were to work in a group of 3 to find a floor plan of a 2-storey bungalow or semi-detached house to analyze the plans and identify all the beams and columns. Then, for the individual task, each of us is to select 6 different beams which consist of 4 complex beams and 2 simple beams and 4 different columns from the plan in the group task. Below is the report analyzed and also the calculations.
