Tales of Three Cities
PROJECT 1: IDEAS AND THEORIES IN URBANISM
In this project, we were to explore case study cities through the ideas and theories prevailed in historical and contemporary times. By working in a group of 9, we have chosen a case study which is The Light Waterfront located in Georgetown, Penang.
Throughout this project, I have learned to think critically based on various approaches of urban design and also enhanced prevailing ideas of urbanism.
PROJECT 2A: JOURNAL ON URBAN SKETCHES AND PHOTOGRAPHS
In this individual project, we were to document the city spaces based on the relationships and roles of the three urban design elements, especially focusing on the urban struturing principles. We were required to produce 5 sketches and 15 photographs about the three cities which are Kuala Lumpur, Georgetown and Kuching.
PROJECT 2B: MAPPING THE TOWNSCAPE
In this project, we were required to work in a group of 4 or 5. The aim of this project is coin our own theory for the city. The city chosen is Jalan Alor, Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur. The objectives are to characterize the urban form, establish the significance in the layout and design and also illustrate the urban distinctive character. We were to present our own theory and also produce a video about it. Attachment below are the presentation slides and video.
